In North Carolina, an out-of-date NCTracks record can quietly stall your referrals and payments — often before you notice.

20+ years clearing the path in all 50 states — we've done this before, and we'll do it for you. Here's how NC Medicaid providers keep their record clean and referral-ready.

Update within 30 days, through a Manage Change Request

Under the NCDHHS Provider Administrative Participation Agreement, you must update your NCTracks enrollment within 30 days of any change — address, contact, ownership, or a new service location. Those updates go through a Manage Change Request from the Status and Management page of the secure provider portal, take about 10 business days, and you can have only one pending application per NPI at a time.

Re-verify at least every five years

NC Medicaid re-verifies every provider at least every five years. Miss it and your enrollment can be terminated. Before you can reliably accept referrals, your record has to be accurate and active — and confirm your own plan's referral timelines directly.

Key takeaway: Update within 30 days via a Manage Change Request, keep addresses USPS-deliverable, and re-verify every five years to stay enrolled and referral-ready.
